I'm a professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience (and a PhD etc.). Successful.. you would think.. and happy with life.. Well not really. Its not the money... its the surroundings. I'm surrounded by people who are only interested in short-term financial profit and putting themselves first. I don't fit in! Is it because I was brought up in a time when things were generally different? Possibly. I was born in the nineteen sixties. Is it because I was brought up to believe that family values were "above everything else"? What's so special about that! Maybe the real problem is that I was priviledged enough to be able to attend school surrounded by children of wealthy parents - where money was, at best considered useful... or more commonly considered vulgar. My parents struggled to send me there:- the result being that I "got a glimpse" over a number of years into this more civilized world - without having the financial means to remain. Well, with a recent divorce behind me, I've been dong some soul-searching. If I'm honest with myself, I hate the "rat-race" and would love to make a new start with a lady who resides in and reflects this more civilized world.
